Course Objectives
After completing
BIO211, Introduction to Cell Biology and Genetics, students should be able to
demonstrate the following:
- An understanding of
the relationship between chemical structures of biomolecules and their
cellular functions.
- An understanding
of how basic cellular processes are regulated and controlled at the
molecular level.
- An understanding
of how organisms acquire store and use energy at the cellular level.
- An understanding
of genetic information and the cellular processes associated with the
replication, transmission, and expression of this information.
- An understanding
of biotechnology and its impact on society and the environment.
- An understanding
of core laboratory techniques used to study life at the cellular and
molecular levels.
