Business Department
The U.S. Department of Education, Business,
and International Education Program has provided a two-year grant
of $163,000 for the B&IE Program. The program is funded for the
period August 1997 to July 1999.
The program is a component of the Business
Department at Buffalo State College and is supported by the Research
Foundation of SUNY at Buffalo State College.
The goal of the B&IE Program is to link
faculty, students, trade associations, and corporations in an effort
to improve international business and to promote a greater understanding
of international trade, exporting, NAFTA, and the diversity of societies
and cultures of the Western Hemisphere.
The major program activities
are: faculty development seminars on international business; new international
business courses; internationalization of the business curriculum;
international business seminars for area companies; collaboration
with companies and trade-related organizations to promote exporting;
a World Wide Web site to distribute information; student internships;
and programs to improve understanding and appreciation of cultural
diversity in the Western Hemisphere.
