Business Department

The U.S. Department of Education, Business, and International Education Program has provided a two-year grant of $163,000 for the B&IE Program. The program is funded for the period August 1997 to July 1999.

The program is a component of the Business Department at Buffalo State College and is supported by the Research Foundation of SUNY at Buffalo State College.

The goal of the B&IE Program is to link faculty, students, trade associations, and corporations in an effort to improve international business and to promote a greater understanding of international trade, exporting, NAFTA, and the diversity of societies and cultures of the Western Hemisphere.

The major program activities are: faculty development seminars on international business; new international business courses; internationalization of the business curriculum; international business seminars for area companies; collaboration with companies and trade-related organizations to promote exporting; a World Wide Web site to distribute information; student internships; and programs to improve understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity in the Western Hemisphere.
