Types of variables: discrete; continuous
Discrete variables have a finite number of response choices (values); only whole #s
Exs. # of members in one’s household, all nominal variables are discrete
Continuous variables (theoretically) can take on an infinite # of values, e.g. income, age (these variables can be measured as though they are discrete)
