Paid Position: 

Full-time, paid internship at $20.00 hourly starting May 2026 through August 2026 based on school schedule. A minimum commitment of 2-3 months is required.

 Merchants Insurance Group, a leading Property and Casualty Insurer in the Northeast, is looking for is looking for a highly motivated Commercial Underwriting Support Center Intern interested in learning and applying their skills in a corporate capacity. You will be working directly with colleagues and learning about diverse topics including general insurance, underwriting, claims, loss control, premium audit and data reporting.

Internship Duties:

Commerical Underwriting Support Center Intern:

 

-Assist the Support Center in daily task operations including Indexing, Scanning, Endorsement processing, Cancellation Processing, and motor vehicle records (MVR) pulls.

 
-Property and Casualty Training – Learn through the Property and Casualty Principles book about Property and Casualty Insurance, lines of business, and the different aspects of the insurance world

.
-Training and Development – Work with colleagues to learn more about diverse topics including general insurance, products, underwriting, claims, loss control, premium audit, and data rporting.


-Ad-hoc analytical projects including end of Non-Renewal Project, One Note consolidation, and procedure improvements.

Computer Knowledge Required:

  Strong written and verbal communication skills, Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, Ability to work both independently and as a team in a hybrid work environment,Has a willingness to take on a diverse set of projects and deliver high quality work
