 BTPM is your local public media station, serving the communities of Western New York and Southern Ontario.

Internship Duties:

TWO Postions Avaiable:

 
FUNDRAISING PRODUCTION INTERN: The intern will assist the Associate Fundraising Producer and Executive Fundraising Producer with many aspects of live fundraising designed to meet revenue and membership engagement goals. The intern will gain experience in various areas of the development, pre-production, production of live fundraising across the BTPM brand of television and radio stations.

 

Essential Functions
Works with the Associate Fundraising Producer to create seasonal strategies and on-air scripts for fundraising efforts on TV and radio.
    1. Assists with the coordination of fundraising needs with members of other departments. (Membership, Marketing, Production, Broadcast, etc.)
    2. Works on live production equipment- teleprompter, studio cameras, headsets, graphics interface, etc.
    3. Assists with set-up and take down of various aspects of the fundraising production set/studios.
    4. Provides administrative support to the Fundraising department when needed.

 

THE BRIDGE INTERN: The intern will assist the program director of The Bridge with research, planning, development, and implementation of music programming, digital strategy, and content for use on social media and the web. The intern will gain experience in station branding and management while learning music curation, basic editing and recording, social media and web content creation. Opportunities to collaborate with other departments will be available.
 
Essential Functions
1. Assists in regional band curation, local outreach and promotional projects.
2. Creates content for use on station social media platforms and webpage.
3. Assists in the planning and execution of community events, concerts and outreach efforts.
4. Collaborate with the production partner on imaging, sound editing, and recording.
5. Assists with music research.
6. Provides administrative support to the Program Director when needed.
7. Performs various ad hoc projects as assigned.

Computer Knowledge Required: 

 

Specific Skills Required:

 -Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters
-Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office or similar programs
- Creative, approachable, team-focused, professional demeanor
- Very good communication skills both verbal and written
- Willingness to learn, specifically in media and/or the nonprofit sector
