Course Description:

All Psychology majors, regardless of their area of concentration, are required to complete a senior seminar in psychology.

The pre-requisites include Introduction to Psychology (PSY101), Statistics (PSY306), and Experimental Psychology (PSY450).  In this respect, this course is directed at a more advanced and deeper level of investigation.

The topic for each senior seminar is slightly different from term to term, but all involve the study of basic theoretical principles, research methods, and the major research contributions in the selected topic area.

My senior seminar topic this semester will be “Traffic Psychology”.

This course will focus on the ways in which social psychology theory and research has been used to explain, predict, and control both negative and positive social phenomenon.  While the focus is on social psychology, there is a clear overlap with other areas of psychology including clinical, developmental, and personality.
