The memoirs you’ve read describe one person’s experience growing up during the Great Depression. Now that you’ve learned more about life during that time period, challenge yourself to DO something with this new knowledge!

Write a memoir about
a significant event in your own life.

Create a multimedia
presentation illustrating important events during the Depression.

Perform a dialogue or
skit depicting an important aspect of your own life or life at the turn of the
21st Century.

Tell a story to the
class depicting an important aspect of your own life or life at the turn of the
21st Century.

Produce and deliver a
broadcast reporting key
news stories from the Depression.
·
Generate a chart or
graph representing price differences for similar products from the Depression
and now.
·
Interview a member of
an older generation and relate findings about growing up during an earlier time
(1940’s, 1950’s, 1960’s).
·
Identify a particular
area of interest from your investigations into the Depression era (1930’s
music, movies, fashions, sports, inventions, celebrities, etc.), explore
additional Web sites for information, then create a collage depicting the
results of your research.
