Programs for Minority & Women-Owned Biz in NY State

Please, download the information, or at least, spend some time reviewing it in all of the above-listed web sites.  You are trying to learn about forms required to be filed, licenses, fees, and certificates mandated in order to legally establish a valid business enterprise in the state of New York.  CHAPTER 9 of our text generally addresses most (but not all) of the questions below.

  1. Define these forms of legal business entities that operate in the USA: (a) Sole Proprietorship, (b) General Partnership, (c) Limited Liability Partnership, (d) Limited Liability Company, (e) C-Corporation, and (f) S-Corporation.
  2. Outline the sequence of steps necessary to form a legally recognized (a) Sole Proprietorship, (b) General Partnership, (c) Limited Liability Partnership, (d) Limited Liability Company, (e) C-Corporation, and (f) S-Corporation, in NY State.  That is, in each case: what form(s),  papers or articles have to be filed? With whom—(dept. of state, county clerk, city department, etc.)? What certificate(s) have to be obtained?  What number(s) have to be obtained, at the federal, state and local levels of government?  And, what is the amount of fees to be paid in each case?
  3. This question does not concern bureaucratic formalities.  What types of programs are targeted to minorities and women-owned businesses in the Empire (NY) State?
